Denmark Street

In the heart of London’s Soho district is the iconic Denmark Street. Denmark Street is considered to be the birthplace of what is today called classic rock. It was once referred to as “Tin Pan Alley” due to the constant noise produced down the street. Many famous musical artists wrote, rehearsed, and recorded in the studios lining the street. This includes David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols, Elton John, and the Small Faces. Now, the large studio recording studios have become independent and music stores.
